What devices does Second Voice work on?
Second Voice is available for both iOS and Android devices. It works on smartphones and tablets running iOS 13+ or Android 8+. We're also working on compatibility with communication devices and tablets specifically designed for AAC use.
Is Second Voice free to use?
Yes! Second Voice operates on a transparent, family-friendly pricing model. Core communication features are always free. We believe communication is a fundamental right and will never put essential features behind paywalls.
Can I customize the vocabulary and interface?
Absolutely! Second Voice is designed to be highly customizable. You can add custom vocabulary, upload personal photos, adjust the interface layout, modify voice settings, and choose from various themes to match your child's preferences and communication needs.
Does Second Voice work offline?
Yes! Once you've downloaded and set up Second Voice, all core features work without an internet connection. This ensures your child can communicate anytime, anywhere, without worrying about connectivity issues.
What age range is Second Voice designed for?
Second Voice is designed to grow with your child. While it's particularly effective for children ages 3-18, the customizable interface means it can be adapted for users of any age with augmentative communication needs. We work closely with speech-language pathologists to ensure age-appropriate features.
How do I get started with the beta program?
Beta testing begins early 2025. Click "Express Interest in Beta" on our homepage to join the waitlist. Beta participants commit to 14 days of active use and provide feedback to help us improve Second Voice before the full launch.
Is my child's data private and secure?
Privacy is our top priority. We use a privacy-first design approach - your child's data stays private, we don't sell personal information, and we give families full control over their data. What happens in your family's communication stays with your family.
Will Second Voice work during phone and video calls?
This feature is currently in development! We're working on seamless integration with phone calls and video chats so your child can communicate clearly with family and friends remotely. This will be available in future updates.
